Julius Kurth - die Stahlkraft von Wissen und Glauben
Julius Kurth’s work as a minister in Höhenschönhausen is only one aspect of the Berlin-born Protestant’s work: educated at Grauer Kloster and the Berlin University, after his ordination served as a vicar. But the private scholar also came to prominence as an Egyptologist and art historian. The Berlin Zoo’s old Ostrich House is based on his ideas. Until today, his work on Far Eastern woodcuts is still highly regarded in Japan.
