On Sunday, April 16 and Monday, April 17, 2017, all guests and friends of IGA are cordially invited to participate in the colorful festival to mark the sakura season, the Japanese cherry blossom festival. Marveling at the blossom, or “hanami” in Japanese, becomes a true celebration—and not just for the eyes.
On these two days, fully dedicated to celebrating the rose pink blossoms, comprehensive insights into Japanese, Korean, and Chinese culture will be provided from 11 am to 5 pm. On the stage of the Korean “Seoul Garden” artists from three Asian countries will appear, while in the Cherry Grove between the Korean Seoul Garden and the Japanese garden a veritable sea of cherry blossoms can be marveled at.
Now a fixed component of the cherry blossom festival: numerous cosplayers, costumed visitors and guests who stroll in elaborate costumes, sometimes homemade, and invite people to look or pose for pictures. A special highlight is the Cosplayer competition on Monday, April 17, 2017, where the most authentic and most beautiful costume is presented and later, with any luck, could win a prize.
A wide variety of food stands will offer sweet and savory morsels for your culinary delight.
